Joe is a Front-End Web Developer and User-Experience Designer specializing in accessible enterprise-level WordPress solutions. When a heart event forced him to take a leave of absence, he attended his first WordPress Meetup, beginning an incredible nine-year journey that includes:

Giving back to the WordPress Community in roles ranging from Volunteer, Speaker, Team Rep (Make WordPress Accessible), Contributor Day Table Lead, Community Summit Moderator, WordCamp Lead Organizer at both the local and flagship levels, and started three WordPress Meetups, including two in Santa Clarita, California, and BlackPress with two Automatticians.

After three decades as a public servant at Metro Los Angeles (transit), managing their blog network, he retired to present topics on WordPress/open-source tech in emerging and underrepresented communities around the world. Joe’s presented at over 25 WordCamp events since 2018.

He advocates for accessibility by blending careers as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator in Corporate Identity and Branding for Fortune 500 companies, Chrysler, and Unisys, with that of a Front-End Web Developer and UX Designer for Metro Los Angeles, one of the largest US transit agencies.
