Anne-Mieke Bovelett is a passionate multilingual accessibility & possibility advocate from Germany. She was born in 1971 in The Netherlands in a long lineage of visual artists, sculptors, musicians and nutty professors. Where her commercial genes come from is still a mystery. She built her first website in 1998 and freelanced on the side for years. In 2008, she took the plunge as a full time entrepreneur. Favourite words in talks with peers and customers are conversion, usability, and customer experience. Both in- and outside the WordPress community, she raises awareness about profitable inclusive design and content. She playfully debunks myths such as “accessible websites are more expensive” and “You can’t create smashing designs if the focus lies on accessibility”. What she loves the most and does best is to guide companies to motivate all departments to ensure accessibility is on top of mind throughout the organization.
